Ariel has recently announced the new Atom 500 with a 500 bhp V8?

It already has the same power to weight ratio as the Caparo T1 (the fastest street legal car around a track), so I was wondering if one were to supercharge the Atom 500 and fit it with wider tire for more grip, would there be any car which could compete with it?
