Is the iphone to much for a 13 year old?

so I'm 13 and I have had a bb curve for 2 years, and I want a iphone. BUT my parents say tht its its to much phone for a 13 year old. I have a ipod touch and I use everything on it, and the iphone is just lke the ipod touch but the iphone is also a phone. do you think its to mch for a 13 year old. If you think tht is too much could u recomend a nice phone for my age. I'm very responsible and my parents can totally trust me. I'm like super thankfull for the phone I have but my contract is expired
