Since the liberals claim "peace and prosperity" years under Clinton, why didn't Bubba fix the auto industry?

Since the liberals all seem to think we had "peace", while we were attacked worldwide and at home, ex: WTC93, Khobar towers, USS Cole, and we had all this wonderful "prosperity", riding the dot com bubble, and shredding the military, why didn't Bubba and the same crew that Obama "thinks" has experience, fix the auto industry? and fix the housing led by the pinhead Barney Frank?
