Why is my friend's Palm Pocket PC PDA not displaying my text messages correctly?

My friend has the Palm Pocket PC PDA and uses Sprint. The last couple times I text her (we rarely text) it just shows up as random letters, numbers and symbols on her phone. Texts from anyone else show up just fine. I have a Motorola Droid from Verizon.
